Alternative Education
Program Highlights
• Full-time, structured alternative school for children and youth with behavioral and emotional challenges
• Offers grades K-12 instruction with certified teachers for each major curriculum area along with a life skills curriculum
• Features small group and individualized academic instruction. Class size is generally under 10 students with at least one additional support staff.
• Title 1 services available for reading and math
• High school credits may be earned; credit assignment determined by the placing LEA
• Therapeutic components including recreational therapy by a certified recreational therapist and individual therapy options for eligible students
• Includes case management services with weekly progress reports
• Flexible placement options ranging from full to partial day programming and emergency stabilization/pick-up programming
• Follows the La Crosse Area School District calendar
• Provides all transportation
